Outlook Express
Open Outlook Express. Click on "Tools" on the top menu bar. Click on "Accounts"in the drop-down menu.

Click on the "Add" button on the right. Click on "Mail". Enter your name and click "Next". Enter your email address and click "Next". The window below appears.

Enter "mail.your_domain.net" for the "Incoming Mail Server" and the "Outgoing Mail Server". Click "Next". The window below appears. Special Note: Some ISP's require that you use their outgoing mail server in order to send mail. At times this requirement is erratic. The safest thing to do is to use your ISP's outgoing mail server at all times. This is especially the case if you can receive mail but not send mail. Charter's outgoing mail server is "smtp.charter.net".

Your email address is your account name Enter it in the "Account" box. Enter your password in the "Password" box. Click "Next". Click "Finish". Click "Close" in the "Internet Accounts" window.
To delete your old account, click "Tools" then "Accounts" then the "Mail" tab. Select the old account. Click on the "Remove" button on the right.
Web Mail
What is it? - It is email that you access via your web browser whether your browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Opera or any other web browser.
How do I set it up? - In a sense you don't have to at all. You just enter "http://webmail.your_domain" in your url location box. For your login you enter your email address in the login box. You enter your password in the password box. You can try it right now by clicking on the images below.
So what does this mean?- It means you can check your email from any computer that is connected to the internet. The email stays on the
server until you delete it. It means those nasty little worms and viruses choke in confusion when they can't find your Internet Explorer address book.
Speaking of address book, how do I export the names? - For Outlook Express, you click on Tools-->Address Book-->File-->Export-->Other Address Book. Select "Text File (Comma Separated Values)". Click
"Export". Enter a file name like "email.csv". Check any additional fields (the default should be fine) and click finish. This file will be in your "C:\Windows" directory. Since you used a "csv" extension, you can pull up this file in Excel. If you used a "txt" extension, you can pull up the file in Notepad or Word. Once you have it in this format you can cut and paste to any of a number of applications including web mail.
